Repairing My Broken Biplane.

About a week ago I was flying my RC biplane and was doing too many tricks and crashed it strait into the ground full throttle! Sadly, I went over and looked over the remains of what used to be my beautiful biplane. The motor was broken, the power pod which holds the electronics cracked in half, and it was a big mess. So, I went to work, found another motor, and glued several things back together. It was hard work and I was busy fixing it for a while, but I got it to fly. And what a joy it was to see it go soaring into the blue skies above. Now I have learned not to be too careless about doing tricks and things like that. It was fun fixing it, but I really would not want to do it again.
This is what my biplane looked like (this is not a picture of my biplane).

Building RC airplanes

My brother recently bought a 3d acrobatic RC airplane kit. The pieces were lazer-cut into multiple sheets of foam-board. He also has most of the electronics ready to be put into the finished airplane.
We found a website that has an instruction video, which shows you step-by-step how to build it. You just fit the pieces together and glue it with hot-glue. Its been a lot of fun putting it together.
Here are some pictures of the general work area, the pieces we are going to put together, and the wings that we have already finished.

RC Airplane Building Fun!

About a week ago my uncle who is a bush pilot in Guyana emailed me asking me to build a Cessna 182 model for the Oshkosh Pathfinder event. He was planning on painting it like his real airplane with extreme care. I said that I really wanted to do it. So about a week later the package came in the UPS van right on time. I built it with a lot of screwing and fitting and it took shape quickly. Here is a picture of the airplane I built, but in this picture it is not painted like my uncles airplane. I'll try to show you the picture of the finished product when I am done.

Owl Boxes

Recently I have been working on some Barn Owl boxes. A family of barn owls are known to eat 3,000+ gophers in a 4-month period when they have their chicks.  This would greatly help our lawn and garden. Also a pre-made owl box costs around 150-250 dollars each. So making them ourselves will cost a lot less money. Right now our boxes are in the process of being put together in our barn.

Boards ready to be nailed together.
Work in progress.

A New RC Airplane!

My brother got a Parkzone Archer for his birthday. It is a fast little single engine airplane. Our friend who also had a RC Super Cub came over and it was really exiting. Here are pictures of the Archer and the Super Cub.

RC Fun

A couple weeks ago a friend gave me an RC airplane without any electronics. It is called a baby blender biplane. It is called baby blender because the people that built it built a bigger version that they put a blender in it. They actually said that they blended a smoothy in it. What a weird idea! Anyway, I hope some day that I can get the money to put the needed electronics in it. I am also having fun with my Parkzone T-28 Trojan. Just the other day I was dive bombing my brother, pulled up too steep, and did a hammer-head stall about 20 feet off the ground. Thankfully, I recovered it. My Traxxas Stampede vxl RC car will go 45mph max. One of my favorite things to do is to drive it up a tree and do a flip and land right side up. We had a track for it for a while but my brother and I got tired of weeding it. I also got an RC Chinook helicopter that is really cool. It has two buttons on the controller, one has the letter F and the other has the letter B. What these stand for is forward and backward, which slides a weight inside the Chinook to help it fly better.

Dog Blanket

Recently I made a dog blanket for our neighbors Christmas present. Sewing is not my passion, but it was nice to do something nice for him. It was also nice to see a finished product that I made.
